Knights

Knights purpose is to help build the relationship between fathers and sons.  Our society today is in desperate need of disciplined leadership.  This leadership is not coming from our government or churches, leaving a void where today’s fathers do not know how to be a father or leader for their family or in their community.  This program has been setup to first build the relationship between fathers and sons, second equip fathers with the tools necessary for being a father and leader and third prepare and equip our sons for manhood being future fathers and leaders.  Three areas of focus:

We meet once a month.  Additional meetings are planned for camping, hiking, exploring, field trips, canoeing and other related activities to reinforce the three areas of focus – spiritual, physical and mental.

The purpose of the monthly meetings is not for someone to teach the group, but to allow the fathers and sons to develop a community with the other fathers and sons in our church and area and to develop a setting where fathers take on the leadership role with their son’s development. 

This program is set up similar to the book by Robert Lewis, Raising a Modern-Day Knight,  by offering opportunity to master skills (with rewards) and advance into different stages of manhood.
